Reporting advancement is a requirement of the Boy Scouts of America.  Internet Advancement makes this a simple process for reporting Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, and Sea Scout ranks; Venturing awards; and activity badges, belt loops, and merit badges.

Simple and intuitive, the system works using Internet Explorer 6 or higher. Units can enter advancement at any time, print reports, and obtain current rosters from the BSA system.

Units select an advancement processor who is granted access with a unit ID.  They access Internet Advancement through the council’s website or from MyScouting.  Ranks must be entered in sequence based on unit program type.  The system validates entries against advancement rules and generates error messages as appropriate. Errors must be corrected before the process can proceed.  Once this is done, the unit can print an advancement report, sign it, and forwarded it to the council.  They can also print order sheets for the Scout Shop.

Eagle Rank Submission Process

Life Scouts are required to use the BSA Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project Workbook to complete Eagle Scout requirement number 5.

When submitting eagles to council for your board of reviews, please use the following procedures in order to expedite the process:

  1. Original (two sided)    Eagle Rank Application
  2. One copy of (Requirement 6) Statement of Ambitions, life purpose and leadership positions outside of scouting.
  3. Two copies of the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook
  4. Eagle Candidate Letter and Instructions
  5. Eagle Reference Cover Letter

If additional paper is needed to answer questions from these pages, please attach them to the back of the copies of the project workbook pages.
Please staple or paper clip copies. DO NOT put in binders, jackets, etc. DO NOT include divider sheets or section cover sheets. Copies of photos, bills, letters, etc. are not to be attached. You need to take these, together with your Original Project Workbook, with you to your board of review.
Please DO NOT have reference letters sent to the council. They are to be directly mailed to the eagle coordinator of your district. Failure to do so can cause delay in your board of review.

PLEASE REMEMBER ... After you have had your board of review, the Original Eagle Scout Rank Application and Advancement Sheet, both affixed with appropriate signatures, need to be turned in to the council so it can be submitted to the National Office in order to receive your eagle status and credentials. When the council has received your credentials, a postcard will be sent to your unit leader informing them that they are ready to pick up.
